BMW 2 Series Active Tourer

Practical and stylish, this addition to the 2 Series range brings with it a number of BMW firsts, including front-wheel drive and turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engines. But it’s the 218d diesel model that interests us here, with low CO2 emissions and 68.9mpg economy, and it’s no slouch either, ticking off the 0-62mph sprint in a sprightly 8.9 seconds. 

Passengers benefit from a comfortable and luxurious cabin with ample room for five, and luggage capacity is impressive too, with an electric tailgate as standard. It’s good to drive too, with slick controls and composed handling, but be wary of getting busy with the options list as it will soon get pricey.
