In a response to a letter published on 5 January you say that VAG will meet 100 percent of replacement cost if a Touran has been VAG maintained and has a faulty ABS control unit. Our Touran is 5 years old but has only done 55K and the ABS Control Unit has just failed. Our VW dealer has quoted £1200 and is saying that whilst they are willing to approach VAG for a goodwill gesture, a decision is likely to take up to 2 weeks and they think it is not likely. Do you think it is worth approaching VAG direct? The dealer has said this won’t help as we will just be referred back to the dealership.

volkswagencustomerservices@volkwagen.co.uk At 5 years old you won't get 100%. But VW repeated its promise to me last Monday that you will get something. If all that is faulty is the ESP then the ABS is unaffected and the car is still legally drivable. Just lacking ESP.
