How can I check if my new insurance policy is valid?

I renewed my car insurance 15 days before it was due (with much difficulty due to hearing problems). Now, 10 days after it was due I have still not received any confirmation of renewal through the post (I know that bank holidays will cause some delays) so have I any cause to be worried? Is there an e-mail address for Aviva should I need to follow this up?

Visit www.askmid.com and input your reg to find out if you are insured. If not, do not drive the car on the road and get back in touch with your insurer.
