The Porsche Taycan is a low slung 4-door electric sports saloon launched in October 2019 offering typical Porsche performance and connectivity with everyday usability.
Porsche answer to the Jaguar I-Pace and Tesla Model S.
The first models are the Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo. The flagship Turbo S version of the Taycan can generate up to 560 kW (761 PS; Taycan Turbo S: combined power consumption 26.9 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions 0 g/km) overboost power in combination with Launch Control, and the Taycan Turbo up to 500 kW (680 PS; Taycan Turbo: combined power consumption 26.0 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions 0 g/km). The Taycan Turbo S accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, while the Taycan Turbo completes this sprint in 3.2 seconds. The Turbo S has a range of up to 412 kilometres, and the Turbo a range of up to 450 kilometres (according to WLTP in each case). The top speed of both all-wheel-drive models is 260 km/h.
Following the Taycan Turbo S and the Taycan Turbo, the Taycan 4S is the entry-level model in the Taycan range. It is available with two battery sizes offering up to 530PS with the Performance battery or up to 571PS with the Performance battery Plus.
A single-deck Performance battery with a total capacity of 79.2 kWh comes as standard. The two-deck Performance battery Plus as used in the Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo is optional. The total battery capacity is 93.4 kWh.

In both variants, the Taycan 4S accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds. The top speed is also 250 km/h in both cases. The range is up to 407 kilometres (254 miles) with the Performance battery and up to 463 kilometres (289 miles) with the Performance battery Plus (WLTP). The maximum charging capacity (peak) is 225 kW (Performance battery) or 270 kW (Performance battery Plus).

Inside, the free-standing, curved instrument cluster forms the highest point on the dashboard. This places a clear focus on the driver axis. A central 10.9-inch infotainment display and an optional passenger display are combined to form an integrated glass band in a black-panel look. As standard, the Taycan 4S comes with a part leather interior as well as front comfort seats with eight-way electrical adjustment.

An entirely leather-free interior is optional, made from innovative recycled materials.

The integrated Porsche 4D Chassis Control analyses and synchronises all chassis systems in real time. As standard, the Taycan 4S features adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology including electronic damper control PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management).

The Taycan 4S has six-piston fixed-calliper brakes on the front axle with internally vented cast iron brake discs. The brake disc diameter is 360 millimetres on the front axle and 358 millimetres on the rear axle. Four-piston brakes are used on the rear axle. The brake callipers of the brake system are painted red.

The Taycan 4S can be ordered immediately in mainland European Porsche dealers and arrives from January 2020. Prices in Germany start at 105,607 euros – including VAT and country-specific equipment.
