Vauxhall Corsa-e (2020) Review

Electric version of the Vauxhall Corsa, closely related to the Peugeot e-208.

With 136PS and 260Nm of torque, the electric Corsa covers 0-31mph in 2.8 seconds and 0-62mph in 8.1 seconds. There are three driving modes available: normal, eco and sport.

A full charge provides enough range for 205 miles when left in normal mode, while selecting eco mode increases this to 40 per cent. The Corsa-e is equipped as standard with an 11kW on-board charger, while a rapid-charge station can charge the battery to 80 per cent in 30 minutes.

The Corsa-e features a regenerative braking system to recover energy produced under braking or deceleration. This converts kinetic energy into electrical energy which can be used immediately or stored in the battery. Drivers can select between two levels of regenerative braking.

The Corsa-e is available from January 2020 in two trim levels, with a £26,490 start price after the Government's £3500 plug-in car grant. 

Corsa-e SE Nav gets climate control a/c, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with DAB radio, sat nav, voice control, Bluetooth for hands-free phone calls/music streaming and smartphone integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Driver aids and tech include cruise control with speed limiter, front camera system with pedestrian detection, speed sign recognition, lane departure warning/lane assist, automatic emergency braking and rear parking sensor.

Corsa Elite Nav model adds Navi Pro infotainment system with a 10-inch screen, much wider traffic sign recognition system, rear-view camera, front parking sensor, heated front seats/heated steering wheel and keyless entry.

Production starts in January 2020.
