Great all round mid sized suv

After ruling out large suv as too big and expensive we decided to take plunge and buy a Land Rover Discover Sport despite the mixed reviews and have had no regrets. Maybe we were lucky may be others were unlucky?

Really like the style and image, engine reasonable quiet and refined for a diesel, IMHO Automatic transmission is a must.

Driving is refined whether on country roads or motorway and on the rare occasion I driven in snow or off road it has been brilliant.

No issues with DPF or oil contamination or short service though we don’t drive short journeys or a lot of town traffic. Adblue easy to top up and in expensive.

The infotainment system (non pro) is a little dated and abit laggy but perfectly functional, try to get higher spec models as equipment levels can be a little on the mean side .

3rd row of seats are fine for kids or adults on short journeys with second row pushed forward

Fuel economy is a little less than hoped but not awlful but has improved with miles. 37 mpg mixed and 40+ on long journey loaded up.

Dealer (Inchscape Southampton) has been very easy to deal with. Would certainly consider buying another LR and would recommend. Though based on other reviews do not get the diesel if you drive a lot in towns or short journeys.
